Happy New Year!

We wish you and your family a happy and healthy new year!  The new year signals a new start and a chance to add even more great things into your life.  Will you add more healthy meals to your diet?  Or find a great new way to stay in shape?  Maybe it's time for some new interests?  Do you plan to read more and watch T.V. less?  Or maybe pick up a hobby?  Whatever your goals for the new year, we can help!  We have just added a great new "D.I.Y." section full of great books on topics from choosing a new hobby to kniting up a punk sweater.  We also have a great range of both new and used diet and exercise books, self-help guides, spiritual and inspirational titles, and calendars to help you get organized.  What will 2010 bring?  We can't wait to find out.

RE-OCCURING MONTHLY EVENTS

On top of our special events, we have the following on-going events.  You can count on these month after month!

OPEN MIC NITES

By far our most popular event.  Open Mic Night happens
every 2nd and 4th Saturday at 7 PM.  There is always a diverse and amazing group of performers. Everyone is invited to perform or just kick back and be entertained. We also have cold drinks, coffee, and snacks to complete the evening.Sign-ups start at 6:30 p.m. For January, Open Mic Nights are January 9th, and January 23rd!

Literati:  A Book Club

This month our in-store reading group will read "The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane"

 by Katherine Howe.

Written by an author completing a Ph.D. in New England Studies, and whose ancestors had been accused witches in Salem, "The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane" travels seamlessly between the trials in the 1690s and a modern woman's story of mystery and discovery.

The reading group is open to new members. Simply come in and pick up a copy of this month's selection.  See you on the last Monday of the month, January 25th @ 6:30 p.m.!

Teen Reading Group

This month our Teen Book Club will read "The Secret Life of a Teenage Siren" by Wendy Toliver.  Sixteen-year-old Roxy is transformed from an awkward band geek into a gorgeous siren. From her grandmother, a fellow siren, Roxy learns that her new looks come with two important rules: dont tell anyone about her powers and dont fall in love.

Simply come by and pick up a copy (you get 20% off, when purchased for the book club) and meet the last Sunday of the month at 4 p.m. to talk about the book.
